PM: How did you get involved in photography?
Sil: Thanks to my parents, who gave me a Kodak Instamatic when I was in my teens... Since then I've been taking photos everytime I had the chance. Buying a digital camera gave new juices to my creativity.
PM: How would you describe your photographic style?
Sil: I tend to have a minimalistic approach to what I see through my camera. I'm intrigued by shapes and shadows and great contrasts. Colors also fascinate me a lot.
PM: Why do you photoblog?
Sil: I like to share my works and get feedback on it. I also don't put titles or descriptions to my photos, because I think who looks at them should experience them without the aid of words. I've been reconsidering this approach lately and started another photoblog where I try to 'explain' some of my shots, though.
PM: What are your strengths and weakness as a photographer?
Sil: I think my strengths are few if compared to my weakness! :) One big weakness of mine is I seem to have problems in capturing shots of people... Portraiture is also missing in my photographic experience. Hope to make up for the missed shots in the future.
PM: Are you a Photoshop fanatic?
Sil: Not really, but I couldn't do without it. I'm a beginner who likes to experiment and learn. I'm also very impatient so I might spend too much time experimenting on my own whereas reading from a book would helpe me reaching my goals much faster... :) I'm not a big fanatic of over-manipulation. I mainly use PS for standard color, exposition, tonal correction and to achieve a special atmosphere with the use of filters and actions.

PM: What is your background, and what are you doing when you are not photoblogging?
Sil: I was born in 1963 in a little town in Northern Italy. I'm now living in Sicily and I adore the southern colors and light, which are of big inspiration to me everyday. When not photoblogging I mainly work on my pc at my pictures. I found out that every photo you take requires great amounts of work. At least this is how it works for me. I'm a perfectionist and I seldom am satisfied with out-of-the-camera results. In intervals, I like to play oline games, especially car races or golf games or other ability games. I also like reading detective stories, usually at night, before going to sleep.
