Photographer: Kresta King Cutcher • Web Site: http://www.flickr.com/people/camera_rwanda/Location: USA until May 2006, UK/East Africa thereafter • Contact: camera_rwanda at yahoo dot com • Member Since: 03/05/06 • Equipment: Film: Canon Rebel, Digital: Nikon D-70.

PM: How did you get involved in photography?
KKC: A trip to India in early 1999, for which I purchasedmy first new-to-me camera.
PM: How would you describe your photographic style?
KKC: Intense, dramatic.
PM: Why do you photoblog?
KKC: I want others to become aware of the children and orphans of Rwanda (and East and South Africa). My other interest is genocide. We must do all we can to inspire all people to care about human life. What's happening in Darfur and Chad right now is not being covered adequately. I want to use my images to remind people that "Never Again" is actually "Again and Again" and that we all share in the responsibility of preventing/stopping genocide. Awareness is step one.
PM: What are your strengths and weakness as a photographer?
KKC: Strength: The Portrait. Weakness: Technical skills.
PM: Who are your favorite photographers?
KKC: Gilles, Nachtwey, Salgado.

KKC: I've been a traveler since an early age. I am taking a sabbatical from teaching to photograph in Africa this next year.
